GIS Day 2017 is next Wednesday, November 15
th!
This year we are planning a variety of student-focused events that will take
place on campus over several days next week. The GIF is co-hosting with the
D-Lab and Earth Sciences Map Library to highlight methods and technologies for
working with geographic data, maps, and spatial analysis. Please see our
schedule
for more information and to sign up for any of these events!
Events on Wednesday include a Georeferencing
workshop, lunch and lightening talks, and a GeoHack Co-Working Party. Students
and researchers are welcome to sign up for the lightening talks and to join us
for collaborative group consulting during the GeoHack session. If your students
are working on final projects, the GeoHack session is also a great opportunity
for them to get feedback on their work.
Next Thursday (11/16) and Friday (11/17) we’re
excited to host special guests from NASA’s Land Processing Distributed Active
Archive Center (LP DAAC), who will be visiting the GIF for both a Geolunch talk
and a Friday afternoon hands-on workshop.
Feel free to share this information with your students,
colleagues and other folks who might be interested. All are welcome, but
please
RSVP here. Email
pattyf@berkeley.edu with any questions. Happy GIS Day!
